Change has a way of showing up uninvited.

Sometimes it’s a layoff you didn’t see coming. Sometimes it’s a restructure that leaves you questioning your next move. And sometimes, it’s a quiet moment where you realize the way things have been just isn’t working anymore.

I’ve lived through each of those pivots — the unexpected ones, the chosen ones, and the ones that shook my confidence before they rebuilt my clarity. Through every turn, one truth has stayed constant: how we navigate change defines not just our work, but our wellbeing.

I started Pivot Partner Consulting because I believe no one should have to navigate those turning points alone. As an HR leader, I’ve helped organizations through massive transformations — layoffs, restructures, culture resets, leadership changes — but I’ve also been the person sitting in the uncertainty, trying to make sense of what comes next.

That’s where the name Pivot Partner comes from. It’s not just about consulting, it’s about partnering through the pivot. Whether that means helping a leader realign their team, guiding a company through a compliance or culture shift, or working with someone one-on-one to rediscover their confidence after a career curveball, my mission is the same: to turn the unknown into an opportunity for clarity, connection, and forward motion.

"I have used Melanie as a resource for my last two job hunts, specifically for reviewing and providing feedback to my resume and application materials. Melanie throughly looked into not only the specific roles I was applying for, but the organizations themselves. She was able to provide helpful, general feedback on how to improve my resume and highlight my accomplishments and skills, but then provide tailored suggestions specific to the roles and organizations I was applying to.

During my last two endeavors to find new employment, I had not had any experience close to the human resources field or been a part of any hiring teams. Melanie was able to provide helpful feedback to ensure that my resume stuck out for the hiring teams who were taking first looks. She was also able to provide helpful pointers in including certain vocabulary and editing my experience descriptions so that my resume would have the best chance of making it through any pre-screening software that many companies are now using before looking at resumes.

I know Melanie has passions in many areas of HR, company strategy and team development, but I HIGHLY recommend Melanie as a resource for individuals looking for direct feedback on making themselves as strong as an applicant as possible. In an ever-changing world and job market, I will certainly continue to turn to Melanie when I need to revisit my CV/resume for future career changes."

"Melanie is the type of person that everyone wants to be on their team. She is a total rockstar at work. She doesn’t only get the job done, she goes above and beyond on each deliverable with time to spare on deadlines. She absolutely raised the standard of our company and made me raise my own standards for the work I produce. She is the team member who is always proactive in looking for work to be done and ways to improve and streamline processes. I always felt very safe when Melanie and I were put on the same client, even if we had never done the type of project before. I am grateful to have worked with her and made a friend out of her. Any team or company would be lucky to work with Melanie!"
